Creative Critical Reflection

 1.  How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses conventions by including acting depending on the lyrics,  an eye-level shot, high and low angles. With camera movements, zooms, tracking shots, and pans are also included. These types of  music  videos have wide shots, an establishing shot, a medium shot, a close up from the side and front of the face. In some cases, extreme close ups, two shots, and an aerial shot/ God's eye view may be used.  The product represents social issues by showing how people can lose their friends and react in different ways. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages with audience by telling a story that people can connect to and maybe even relate to. It would be distributed as a real media text through media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and etc. 3. How did your production skills develop th

Are We Still Friends Music Video

Image
This was my group's second major project that we worked on together. After watching the music video, there is are no scenes that I would want to change, which I find shocking. Overall it was a great experience, I just think it was great experience because I love editing in generally. My knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and the camera movements, angles, and shots plus the last project really helped shape the entire music video

Production Blog: Last Minute Filming

Image
On Saturday, the 17th, I resumed filming with Chelsey and David. Once again I had the role of the actor, so I had to wear the proper clothing and since I was the one who had the storyboard... I had to make sure I brought it. For this part of filming we only filmed the second half of our commercial. Not even the second half, only the nostalgic clips of their past friendship. The rest of the clips were filmed during my time with David last weekend. We also used David's phone again. The first scene that I acted out was me laughing and talking with Chelsey, and David shot it a couple times. The next scene I acted out was on the swings with Chelsey having a conversation. In another, David filmed me and Chelsey having another conversation in a different part of the park. After this, me and Chelsey told David that he should be included in the music video and not just directing. I asked my mom to record the three of us walking. She took about four different takes. One  was the camera at a

Production Blog: Welp... We Couldn't Film Today

On Wednesday, the 14th, me and my group decided what days to film with Chelsey. We eventually decided on that next day, the 15th, either immediately after school or an hour after. The location we chose was Caporella Park. We chose this location because my group wanted to film at a different park to change the scenery. Also, the park was close to me, David, and Chelsey. On the night of the 14th, me and David called each other to make sure that we both could go and talked about how we could get to the park depending on what time we were getting there. If we got there immediately after school, David would uber to the park. If it was about an hour later, he would take the bus and let his parents drop him off. He later texted Chelsey to see if she could come. On the 15th, I told David that my mom said it was best to film immediately after school and that I could uber with David and she'll pick me up from the park. Me and my mother then talked about who would pay for the uber. I then lat

Production Blog: Editing My Videos

Image
Once me and David finished filming on 12/10/22. We wanted to import the clips he took on his phone but we both agreed on waiting until Monday. We then imported the clips through email. David decided to give me half of the clips then the other half the next day. I eventually got all the clips and I started to import them into my editing program, which is Adobe Premiere Pro. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro for about a year and a couple of months. Before I started editing my part of the music video, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I do this all the time because it helps me find things easier rather than everything being all of the place. Also, it's been this way ever since I got Premiere Pro. Before I import the clips I put the actually music video from the artist into the timeline, which is where are the clips, photos, music, and text is placed. I then went through every video and decided

Production Blog: Filming Me

On Saturday, the 10th, I started filming with my group. One of my group members was not able to be there so some scene were filmed before others. As the actor, I made sure I had the proper clothing. Since my headphone were also going to be used, I had to make sure that I brought them. Also, I had to bring most of the equipment. I brought the storyboard with me so that we can know what scene to shoot and act out. The first scene that I acted out was me walking into a room and jumping onto the bed and David shot it a couple times. The next scene I acted out was me turning on the TV that was in the room. While doing these scene we had to move some stuff that was previously in the room to another location. We had to reshoot this scene because the phone wasn't position the way we liked it. For the walking scenes we did multiple takes of different angles, camera movements, and shots. I also gave David some more ideas that we can incorporate into my part of this music video. After about 3

Production Blog: I Really Need to Film... but I Can't

Image
During November 28th through December 9th, I wasn't able to or just didn't film. During this time I was either busy with homework or just needed a little rest after school. During the last couple days of November my group couldn't really film because our second half of the storyboard wasn't completed. Then Wednesday, November 30th, my group talked about possible locations were we could film. These were my grandparent's house on my mom's side, David's house, and Chelsey's house. Me and Chelsey both said that our rooms are a little messy and we cant film in there. The last choice was to film at David's house or film myself at my grandparent's house on my dad's side (both of my parents live with their parents for now). We had to talk about these different locations until that Friday through Sunday (December 2 - 4). Also, I couldn't film December 3rd because one of my friends had a sweet 16, and throughout the entire day I was busy. I was out

Production Blog: Absent I Guess

Before the week of Thanksgiving break my group was talking about trying to film during Thanksgiving break. I said that I would let them know that weekend. On that Saturday morning my dad came to pick me up because i would usually go to his house on the weekend. While i was packing up to leave my dad told me that he had to working in Orlando last minute. After this we went to visit my great grandmother and my great auntie happened to be there also. When we were about to leave, my dad told my great auntie that he had to work in Orlando and she brought up that I can work with him too as a joke. After this my dad told me that he would think about taking me to work with him. I didn't really want to go because I had homework for 5 out of. 8 of my classes. This would take me about 3 days to complete, especially with chemistry. This would make me really work on my homework Wednesday night, Thursday, Friday, and maybe the weekend. Later that night my dad told me that he was bringing me. The
