Editing Blog: Continuing to Edit

Image
After filming the car scenes, I went to import them into the film. I opened Adobe Premiere Pro to begin editing the opening sequence for my detective film. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro for about 3 years now years now. I moved the clips into my "video" category. I then went through every video and decided which should be part of the first minute and what might be excluded. I then put the selected videos into the timeline and put those videos aligned in the order they needed to be. After that, I cut the videos to make the film flow better. After the clips of me are fully done I watch them over and see if the videos need any fixing up. After that, I make sure that the video flows, like how a movie would.  I experimented with adding transitions between clips. Which helped create a smooth visual experience. I adjusted the audio levels of the dialogue and sound effects for clarity and balance. Even after that I had to take away some of the clips that we filmed. I showed t

Filming Blog: Filmed a Little By Myself

Last weekend, I decided to film just in case my group needed my more scene to include. This because the due date for this film was coming up in about 3 weeks. At this point I just decided to film even if it didn't make the cut. I woke up around 8:30 and told parents and grandparents before hand that I was filming. I ate some breakfast and brushed my teeth. I also had the suit Teo gave me and changed into it. I then went to my car. I grab my phone, eager to shoot the opening scene for my detective film project. I head outside and climb into my car, picturing it as a sleek detective's vehicle. I prop my phone on the passenger seat, using a book or case to hold it upright. I check the frame, making sure the lens captures the street scene in front of me.  I pull out of the driveway, keeping an eye on the road. I cruise down the street, the camera capturing the passing scenery. I keep my gaze sharp, scanning the sidewalks and storefronts for potential leads. I occasionally tap the b

Filming Blog: We Didn't Film This Weekend

Image
So the plan to film this weekend didn't work out. After filming last last week, my group planned to film during the week and weekend. After discussing with my group we decided that film the school wasn't going to work out. David, was at Latinos in Action, catching up with APUSH work, and working out. Teo was busy with SAT tutoring and doing homework. I was busy with homework, staying after school for clubs, and was volunteering. When it came to Thursday we checked in with each to see if we were free free and everyone said yes. When Friday came around I let my group know that I wasn't volunteering this weekend, and that we can film either Saturday or Sunday. David told me that Saturday works for him. Teo said he was hanging out with his friends. So we said Sunday was the best idea. During this time my grandparents were painting the tv room, which made them move the stuff in there to the living room, which is where we film. On Friday I mentioned that and I'll let them kno

Filming Blog: No Filming on a School Week

Well... back to no filming. This entire week we didn't film. On Monday, everyone was busy with homework. My grandparents also moved the furniture in the house because they were going to paint the tv room. So I helped them moved the couch and the other stuff that needed to be moved . On Tuesday, I was busy with homework. On Wednesday, I was out volunteering with my friends. Some days my friends and I volunteer at the University of Miami during their basketball games. After school my friend's dad picked me up from school and then picked up the rest of the group... including his daughter. We drove to Miami from Fort Lauderdale. When we got to the University my friends and I folding up pizza, popping popcorn, heating up the pizzas, and doing the pretzels. I was there from 4pm to 9pm. After working, my friend's dad dropped us off home. When I was home I worked on my homework until 2am. On Thursday, I was really busy. I edited the film a little bit. I obviously didn't finish.

Editing Blog: Editing the Intro

Once my group finished filming. I imported the clips I took on my phone and I started to import them into my editing program, which is Adobe Premiere Pro. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro for about 3 years now years now. Before I started editing what we had got, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I do this all the time because it helps me find things easier rather than everything being all of the place. Also, it's been this way ever since I got Premiere Pro. This is because when I first got the editing software I watched tutorials on how to use it and how people edited their YouTube videos. I then went through every video and decided which should be part of the first minute or two and what might be excluded. I then put the selected videos into the timeline and put those videos aligned in the order they needed to be. After that, I cut the videos to make the film flow better. After the clips o

Filming Blog: We Finally Filmed

After more than 2 week of not being able to film, because of David saying that something urgent popped up so he couldn't film he the first time. Then Teo said he was too busy for the second time. We finally filmed. I made sure to get up at a reasonable time to eat, cleanup, and change a little. David was picking up Teo and they both were coming to my house to film. When they got here, we talked about the script and the lighting of the room we were using. We also talked about who was going to play the detective. So David made me and Teo say a line from the script to see who would best fit the role of detective and I got it. Teo also brought a suit with him to make sure the role of "detective" seemed real. I changed into  my outfit and we filmed a little in the house with two different lighting to test what we would use throughout the film. After that David started writing out the script while we watched some TV. After he finished, we began to set up the first scene, which

Filming Blog: Plans Didn't Work Out Again

Well my group and I wasn't able to film at all. When me and my group came to class that week we talked about filming again. I think there was an early release day that week but we couldn't use it because we would be busy. In the end we wall agreed that Sunday would be our other filming day. On Monday, I was doing... as usual. I also watched the Grammys. Which are  awards presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry. They are regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry worldwide. On Tuesday, I didn't have that much homework. So I watched a movie and a TV show. On Wednesday, I did homework again. During my study hall class I went to best buddies. Best Buddies is a club at my school that consists of volunteers that create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. On Thursday, I did homework. On Friday, I did nothing. I just watched m

At the end of January, my group talked about filming. I told them that I would most likely be able to start filming the except of the days that I volunteer. Which is on Saturday and one Sunday. Then my group agreed to film from that weekend. This allows us to film for a little more than a month and to re-shot any scenes if we need to. When I went home I started to plan out my week to see if I was even able to film for this weekend. I started doing homework and ate some food. I then my group decided it was best to film around around 10am - 1pm. However people can have things that come up. Through the week my group were talking about what places we can film, who is the protagonist and antagonist, and what we would wear. Then on the 1st of February, my group texted either about filming on Sunday. I knew I could, but David and Teo weren’t sure. So we talked about the time we would try to start film. That morning I woke up early and saw David sent a message about filming at 11am. I said tha
