Creative Critical Reflection

1.  How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses conventions by including what the headphone looks like, the Beats logo, what type of headphone it is (seen at the end of the commercial). The product represents social issues by everyone being able to buy these headphones. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real product media text? My product engages with audience by showing that you can wear it at the park and showing the look of it. It would be distributed as a real media text through media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and etc. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Throughout this project I had three different roles (acting, directing, and editing). With acting, I learned how move with the camera and know what it feels like to act behind a camera. With directing I learned to communicate with new terms like high and low a

My Commercial

Image
This was my group's very first major project that we worked on together. After watching the commercial, there are some areas that could've been improved with editing. This was caused by me being busy with other homework someday and sometimes just forgetting about it. Overall it was a great experience. My knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and the Camera Movements, Angles, and Shots really helped shape the entire commercial.

Production Blog: Editing

Once me and David finished filming on 10/8/22. We wanted to import the clips he took on his phone but he forgot his charger. We then made a plan to import the clips on Monday of 10/10/22, during lunch. Unfortunately we couldn't import the clips with his charger during lunch. One of my friends suggested that we use WhatsApp, but that ended up not working. Lather that day, David told me that he found a way to give me the clips, what he did was email the clips to me. There was a few were a few bumps along the road but I eventually got all the clips and I started to import them into my editing program, which is Adobe Premiere Pro. Before I started editing my part of the commercial, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I then went through every video and decided which should be part of the commercial and what might be excluded, and I put those videos aligned in the order they needed to be. After that, I

Production Blog: Filming Chelsey's Part

On Wednesday the 12th, I resumed filming with Chelsey. This time David was not able to make it, so I had to film/direct Chelsey. As the director, I made to sure to bring my props for the commercial. Again, I am the owner of the headphones I had to make sure that I brought them. Also, I had to bring the equipment since I was the one who already had a tripod for a phone. This time we used my phone, since it would be more easier to import the clips into my computer. I also brought the storyboard with me again to figure what scenes and angles we needed to film. The first thing that I directed was the transition from me to Chelsey, signifying that this is now Chelsey's part of the commercial. For the next scene I did 2 different shots that had incorporated long shot and a medium shot. The next scene that I filmed was Chelsey walking while I did a pan and a zoom following her. After that, I took 5 different shots of her, that included different angles, camera movements, and camera shots.

Production Blog: Filming Corvelest's Part

On Saturday, the 8th, I started filming with my group. One of my group members was not able to be there so some scene were filmed before others. As the actor, I made sure I had the proper clothing. Since I am the owner of the headphones I had to make sure that I brought them. Also, I had to bring the equipment since I was the one who already had a tripod for a phone, and got a camera and tripod just in case. When me and David compared the camera to his phone we decided that his phone was to best device to record with. I brought the storyboard with me so that we can know what scene to shoot and act out. The first scene that I acted out was me putting on the headphones and we did shot it a couple times. The next scene I acted out was me pressing the 'b' button on the headphones. We had to reshoot this scene because the phone wasn't position the way we liked it. For the walking scenes we did multiple takes of different angles, camera movements, and shots. I also gave David som

First Scene: In this scene we will be filming me (Corvelest) putting on the headphones. The shot will be will be tracking shot transitioning to an extreme close-up. This scene will also be about 4 seconds long. The location for this shot will be somewhere at Holiday park. Second Scene: In the second scene we wanted to include the shot of me clicking the "b" button on the headphones to act like we are listening to music along with the commercial. This scene will only be an extreme close-up. This scene will be about 2 seconds. Third Scene: The next scene we wanted to at least include some walking with the headphones on. This scene will include a tracking shot, wide shot, medium-long shot, medium shot, a pan, and a close up. This scene will be about 10 seconds long. Fourth Shot: In the fourth scene, we though how we would go from me walking to Chelsey walking. We came up with a masking transition which will be done in editing. This scene will go from me walking to Chelsey walki
