Production Blog: Editing
Once me and David finished filming on 10/8/22. We wanted to import the clips he took on his phone but he forgot his charger. We then made a plan to import the clips on Monday of 10/10/22, during lunch. Unfortunately we couldn't import the clips with his charger during lunch. One of my friends suggested that we use WhatsApp, but that ended up not working. Lather that day, David told me that he found a way to give me the clips, what he did was email the clips to me. There was a few were a few bumps along the road but I eventually got all the clips and I started to import them into my editing program, which is Adobe Premiere Pro. Before I started editing my part of the commercial, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I then went through every video and decided which should be part of the commercial and what might be excluded, and I put those videos aligned in the order they needed to be. After that, I cut the videos to make my part of the commercial would flow better. Even after that I had to take away some of the clips that we filmed. Eventually on 10/11/22, I finished editing my part but still needed some music... so I went through my whole Spotify playlist and wrote down which songs could possibly go in our commercial. After I filmed Chelsey's part on 10/12/22, I immediately imported the clips from my phone to my laptop after I got home. I wanted to start on deciding what clips I should that day, but I had other homework and decided to at finished editing by that Sunday. It's now Friday and I only put 3 clips in. The process for editing will be the same. Import clips, decide which to use, align those clips in order, and cut/chop. As of right now the music is still being decided. David did tell me that he was trying to get some music from one of our friends, but I haven't heard of anything. Luckily our deadline has gotten extended so as long as I finish the editing the clips part of commercial by Monday, I'll be fine.
