Creative Critical Reflection
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
My product uses conventions by including what the headphone looks like, the Beats logo, what type of headphone it is (seen at the end of the commercial). The product represents social issues by everyone being able to buy these headphones.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real product media text?
My product engages with audience by showing that you can wear it at the park and showing the look of it. It would be distributed as a real media text through media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and etc.
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Throughout this project I had three different roles (acting, directing, and editing). With acting, I learned how move with the camera and know what it feels like to act behind a camera. With directing I learned to communicate with new terms like high and low angles, medium close up, extreme close up, etc. With editing, I already knew how to work with adobe premiere pro. This allowed me to editing the commercial without searching up how to do certain things like masking, how to change the audio level, or how to speed up like the videos for the commercial.
4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware and online - in this project?
This project was filmed using a cell phone, meaning I had to know how to import the videos to my computer so that it could be edited. During this process, there was a bit of a hiccup... since I have an android and the cell phone we used was an iPhone the way I would normally import the clips was different, but my group found a way to work around this. I integrated the editing software, adobe premiere pro, this had no water mark. I already knew how to use adobe premiere pro, so making the commercial was pretty easy.
