Filming Blog: We Finally Filmed

After more than 2 week of not being able to film, because of David saying that something urgent popped up so he couldn't film he the first time. Then Teo said he was too busy for the second time. We finally filmed. I made sure to get up at a reasonable time to eat, cleanup, and change a little. David was picking up Teo and they both were coming to my house to film. When they got here, we talked about the script and the lighting of the room we were using. We also talked about who was going to play the detective. So David made me and Teo say a line from the script to see who would best fit the role of detective and I got it. Teo also brought a suit with him to make sure the role of "detective" seemed real. I changed into  my outfit and we filmed a little in the house with two different lighting to test what we would use throughout the film. After that David started writing out the script while we watched some TV. After he finished, we began to set up the first scene, which was Teo looking at photo of his brother. We then filmed me knocking at the door and Teo opening it up. We have to film this multiple times because the lighting when going from the dark house to the bright outside would not show my face. To improvise on this, we opened the door a little to where the lightening in the back wouldn't mess up my face and continued from there. Teo also came up with the idea to make me look taller to take the detective more seriously. After that we filmed me entering the house and Teo closing the door. Once we got that down, David continued the script for the interview part of the film. Once he finishes me and Teo practiced our lines and started to film. After about 5-10 minutes Teo left because he had something else to do, but David suggested that we get a shot the grandfather clock, that my grandparents have, ticking. This was because it would add to the tensity and unease of the film. So we filmed the grandfather clock ticking, for this we had to stand still be and be silent so you can just hear the clock. After that David left and I cleaned up the area to get it back to a clean and great looking environment.
