Creative Critical Relfection

Come with see a day in my life while also answering questions about the opening sequence for R3VENGE. This has been an amazing journey. It has taught me many valuable skills such as directing, editing, and researching conventions. This final task was definitely my favorite since this pushed my creativity. My favorite part of the process was brainstorming ideas for this task, although I enjoyed everything else as well.

Final Task: R3VENGE Opening Sequence

This was my group's third major project that we worked on together with the addition of a new group mate. It was an amazing experience, from the filming, planning, and editing. My knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and the camera movements, angles, and shots plus the last project really helped shape this opening sequence of my group's own original film.

After I finished editing the opening sequence without the titles, I asked for my mom to view the video and give her input. I recorded what she said in order to remember word for word because I knew I would've forgot it and I didn't want to ask her every 10 minutes to say what she said again because that's annoying. When she viewed the video she said that it was great overall. She also had a suggestion about how a scene went. This scene was when you see Chelsey's and David's name showing up. My mom said that as I was driving off the next scene should've been a cut to me driving in the park to pick up Cailey. Then from there, cut to another scene of me driving down to go pick up Chelsey instead of me turning the corner into the neighborhood and then cutting to me arriving at the park. She also said that it would make it a better scene and bring it together. Everything after that was fine. She loved the way it turned out and so did my group, they both loved the ed...

Editing Blog: The Last Bits

After my group finished filming on Friday evening, on April 7, I immediately started to editing the opening sequence for our film. My editing was delayed by some tie because my mother had to drop off David, Cailey, and then me to my other grandparent's house. When I got there I created a folder with all the clips I film for the project on my phone and transferred them to my laptop. These clips included when I filmed with Cailey and me leaving the house and entering the car. However, transferring the clips was I could that night since I had other homework to on. During Saturday and Sunday, I tried to manage my time doing homework and editing. Saturday was more of me resting and doing homework. Sunday was the day I actually did some editing. Like every time I start to edit, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I do this all the time because it helps me find things easier rather than everything being a...

Production Blog: Done with Filming

Almost a week later from the last time we filmed, my group finished filming. One of my group mates, Cailey, was trying to film on Thursday, which was a PSD (Professional Study Day) for us. This day worked for everyone. However, this plan didn't work for me because my mom was staying home later than usual because she wasn't working on Friday, so either Friday or Saturday would work for me. Cailey couldn't do Saturday, but could do Friday. Luckily all of said that we could do Friday and I also decided to do the rest of filming in my neighborhood. First Cailey arrived, then David, and then Chelsey. By the time Cailey arrived we already planned out that we needed to reshoot me leaving the house, we told the rest of the group after they arrived. We filmed 2 different shot of the scene of me leaving the house. The first shot was a little shaky, so me and the rest of the group decided to re-film it, and this time it came out more stable. I then filmed myself entering and starting ...

Filming Blog: Filming with One of the Gang

On Friday (March 31), my group of four friends decided to film on Saturday. Featuring Riverside Park , Hort Park , Holiday Park , and Joseph C. Carter Park , with the first two being more closer to Cailey and the last two in the middle. Then on Saturday, I told the group chat the final location, which was the famous Holiday Park. I also told them the time to meet up... 5:45pm. I then updated them that there may be a possibility that I couldn't film today because my grandparent's at that time were painting their house and their walkway for the house. My role is a really big factor also, since I'm the one driving the car. So an hour before the filming time, I update my group and told them that I could film. A couple minutes before 5:45, David and Chelsey told us that they wouldn't be able to go. David couldn't make it and Chelsey's dad was stuck in Miami. So that left me and Cailey to film. Luckily, as long as I got me and Cailey to film, we were good because ...

Filming Blog: Back to No Filming

Well... back to no filming. After spring break, my group didn't film for a week. On Monday, March 27, I couldn't film at all because I was so jet lagged from my 9 hour flight from Madrid to Miami. So all of that day was just me resting. On Tuesday, afterschool, I was busy with homework and catching up on homework and classwork that I had to on Monday. On Wednesday, my group started talking about filming locations and times. We talked about where we lived, what days we might be available, and what time would work for us. My group already established that we would like to film some time around 4-7pm. The next day we didn't talk much about filming, however I wasn't that busy so I could actually film, but I was very tired so I took the opportunity to sleep in early that day. Then on Friday, my group didn't show up to school. This was mainly because there was a rumor about a shooting threat spreading around the night before. So in each of my classes there was about half ...
