Editing Blog: The Last Bits

After my group finished filming on Friday evening, on April 7, I immediately started to editing the opening sequence for our film. My editing was delayed by some tie because my mother had to drop off David, Cailey, and then me to my other grandparent's house. When I got there I created a folder with all the clips I film for the project on my phone and transferred them to my laptop. These clips included when I filmed with Cailey and me leaving the house and entering the car. However, transferring the clips was I could that night since I had other homework to on. During Saturday and Sunday, I tried to manage my time doing homework and editing. Saturday was more of me resting and doing homework. Sunday was the day I actually did some editing. Like every time I start to edit, I organized everything by 5 different categories... videos, sound/music, green screen videos, sound effects, and photos. I do this all the time because it helps me find things easier rather than everything being all of the place. I then went through every video and decided which should be part of the opening sequence and what might be excluded. Also, I put the selected videos into the timeline and put those videos aligned in the order they needed to be. After that, I cut the videos and watched them over and see if the videos need any fixing up. After that, I make sure that the video flows but a little roughly since there were still some clips that needed to be added. Like me driving in the car from an over the shoulder shot that my mom filmed on her phone. I also need David to send me the videos that we took on his phone. Which leads me to today (Monday). David told me that him emailing me the clips was not working, so we waited until afterschool. Around 8pm I receive a notification from my email, and I saw that it was the clips David was trying to send earlier that day. Now that I have almost all of the clips I can finally start getting into some deep editing. Hopefully this will be done by the 13, maybe the evening of the 14 at the latest.
